The Los Angeles Natural History Museum is back in action and just as beautiful as ever! After an extensive and loving restoration the main building's grand repository shines again housing over 35 million specimens.

In 1913, Hudson & Munsell opened this T-shaped structure. Restoration efforts have been fierce. With its blend of Spanish, Renaissance, Romanesque, and Beaux-Arts elements, CO architects studied original drawings, photos, and blueprints to revive the rotunda and its three 1920s additions. Among the many items that were restored were a ceramic-tiled exterior dome, copper parapet, repointed bricks, and refurbished marble walls and mosaics.
